In Südtirol hat, mit der Sorte Gala Royal, die Apfelernte begonnen. Ohne hier Werbung zu machen, muß man feststellen, daß dieser rote Apfel so aussieht wie sein Name klingt!  Die Ernte ist reine Handarbeit. Eine Erleichterung bieten, zum Beispiel ,selbstfahrende Hebebühnen. Die Bauern liefern ihre Ernte in Kisten an ihre Genossenschaft. Diese lagert die Äpfel, bei niederen Temperaturen, hoher Luftfeuchte und Kohlendioxyd Admosphäre. So halten die Früchte bis in das nächste Frühjahr und können, je nach Bedarf, vermarktet werden.
  In South Tyrol/Italy has started the apple harvest with the variety Gala Royal. Without making advertising, but this apple looks like his name sounds. The harvest is pure manual work  The only facilitation is the use of self propelled lifting platform. The growers bring their yield to a cooperative who store the apples at low temperatures, hight humidity and carbon dioxide atmosphere up to the next spring. So they can be commercialized depending on demand.
