 Mit dem ganzen
Stolz seiner Tradition empfing Straubing den bayerischen (noch) Ministerpräsidenten
Edmund Stoiber im Festzelt Nothaft zur Eröffnung des Gäuboden
Volksfestes. Er verglich Bayerns mit der weiten Welt und lobte seine Spitzenstellung
und er rückte seine Leistungen und die seines politschen Ziehvaters
Franz Josef Strauß ins rechte Licht. Er schloß seine Rede mit
der Feststellung: "In Straubing schlägt das Herz Bayerns am reinsten".
 With the whole pride of
his tradition, wellcomed Straubing the Bavarian prime minister Edmund Stoiber
in the Nothaft marquee for opening the Straubing Danube plain festival.
He compares Bavaria with the whole wide world and praise his top position.
He also put his job and this from his political bring up father in a favorable
light. He closed his ceremonial address with the ascertainment: "In Straubing
the Bavarian heart beats more clean as somewhere".
