 Vielerorts in der
Türkei hat man die Wintergerste bereits geerntet und sät nun
Baumwolle. Auf den Weg zum Feld ist dieser Bauer vor den Überresten
des Theater der antiken Stadt Milet. In dieser Stadt lebte einst auch Thales,
ein Kaufmann, Astronom, Philosoph und Mathematiker. Er sagte erfolgreich
für den 28. Mai 585 v. Chr. eine Sonnenfinsternis voraus. Bekannt
aus der Schule der Satz des Thales: Alle Dreiecke auf dem Halbkreis über
dem Radius sind rechtwinkelig!
