 Als Vorbereitung
für das Osterfest, haben die Katholiken nun 40 Tage gefastet. Sie
begann mit dem Aschermittwoch und endet mit dem Karfreitag. Beides sind
strenge Fastentage und der Gläubige ißt an beiden Tagen kein
Fleisch. Findige Mönchen erkannten: Fisch schaut keinem Schwein oder
Kuh ähnlich und ist darum kein Fleisch und somit die ideale Fastenspreise.
Läuft einem bei so einem "Steckerfisch" nicht das Wasser im Mund zusammen?
Wenn man ihn doch endtlich bejagen dürfte: der Biber ist mit seinem
schupping Schwanz dem Fisch sehr ähnlich. Darum war auch er
eine Fastenspeise für die Mönche!!

the Catholics now have a 40 day Lent behind. She started with Ash Wednesday
and ends with Good Friday. Both are strong day of fasting and believers
eat no meat on both days. Clever monks recognized: fish isn´t comparabel
with pic and cow and so an ideal fasting meal. It makes your mouth water
at a look on this "stick fish". Unfortunately we here isn´t allowed
to shoot a beaver. The beaver with his scaly tail "looks like a fish".
So for the monks also the beaver as variety during Lent time.
